7/16/07: Everyone here at Battle Arena is devastated to hear of the loss of Battle Arena combatant and personal friend Tobias Funk'e, a/k/a Phillip Rosenthal. He died Saturday night when he was hit by a drunk driver. Words cannot express what a loss this is.. More details to come soon. :(
Toby loved to tell stories at events in UO and loved entertaining people.

He was also a well-known Battle Arena combatant who had many great matches and enjoyed spectating and having fun watching and entertaining those around him.

May 29th, 2007:
A disappointing event transpired this past Sunday night as The Battle Arena presented RESOLUTION. Through the mass of no-shows and extremely difficult problems, The Battle Arena still provided a great match in Hot Lunch vs. Rip Van Winkle. The two gave it their all but in the end Lunch was served. UO Rapper Maximus Lozier, having recently released a new song, went to a stalemate draw with Hellion. Also in the sub-main event Edward Delinden pulled off a shockingly fast victory over Arena veteran RObert j H. For more results from this event, click here.
May 20th, 2007:
The Battle Arena has announced their next event, the big one, the ONE- RESOLUTION! It will be a huge event and though a date has not been set it is rumored that we will see King Tumadeus of Inethria battle the Arena founder Edward Delinden. It has ALSO been rumored that we will finally see Maximus Lozier face off with his most hated rival and undefeated fearsome competitor, Hector Visolara. Who in one night established himself at BloodshedRedemption, wiping out newcomer and winner of the battle royal that night, Rip Van Winkle in a timely fashion. Later that night, Hector further proved himself to Battle Arena officials later that night in an unofficial exhibition bout when he went the distance to a draw with Battle Arena Champion Edmond Dantes. At the moment it is also rumored that The Battle Arena Champion Edmond Dantes will make his return to face winner of T3, Murtagh. This comes as the result of it being announced that the winner of T3 would indeed earn a Championship Match, though it has also been rumored that his Championship bout may take place after Resolution. I assure you as soon as I am informed of what is going to happen, I will post it here on The Battle Arena site. Stay posted!
May 19th, 2007:
Last Wednesday night the T3 tournament rocked Malas as many were on-hand to see Battle Arena veteran Murtagh win the first-ever Triangle Tower Tournament! Also, The Kingdom of Inethria stood victorious in their team battle with UO Rapper Maximus Lozier and Edward Delinden. After the bout, angry over their loss, Maximus Lozier turned on his partner and struck him down with his blade! The heated long-standing rivalry between these two is far from over and was certainly re-ignited that night. Also, Battle Arena newcomer Marcus Valgus made a huge impact, defeating Kato Kiyomasa and establishing himself at the forefront of the new blood we have in The Arena. This man has huge potential, and the future is looking bright. I personally would love to see a showdown between Marcus Valgus and Arena road-warrior Murtagh. Time will tell where the future lies for this great new competitor.
May 13th, 2007:
The guild D.L (Delinden-Lozier) split a few months ago due to bitter turmoil between its founders, Edward Delinden and Maximus Lozier. Now, with no one else to turn to for a partner in his match against the Kingdom of Inethria this Wednesday night, Maximus Lozier has buried his feud with Delinden, and both have agreed to a two-on-two battle at T3. More recently, these two have had a long-standing feud in The Battle Arena, each man holding a victory over the other. It has been rumored that the two would end their feud in a tie-breaking match, but instead they will settle their feud through friendship, teaming up to face King Tumadeus and his royal guard, Hector Visolara. Stay posted here for more details as the event draws near.. See you wednesday night!
May 11th, 2007:
The next event has been announced and it will be this coming Wednesday Night, May 16th when The Battle Arena presents The Triangle Tower Tournament, or "T3" as many are calling it. The event will be a tournament of nine men, placed into three three-man matches, and the three winners will then have a final three-man match to determine the number one contender. It has also been rumored that a challenger has stepped up for the Champion Edmond Dantes and is offering FIVE MILLION GOLD to be on the line. This information has not been verified, and for now the name is being kept under wraps. I assure you as soon as more information becomes available it will be reported here.

April 27th, 2007: THE BATTLE ARENA RELOCATES TO UMBRA!; DISASTROUS EVENT FORCES CHANGE
Through the numerous problems, the Battle Arena put on a disappointing show last Sunday night with Championship Glory. There were many no-shows, causing last-minute changes to every match on the card. Communication crystals went down early and did not return, leaving the audience in the dark as to what was going on. Some even breached Arena security, and at one point a rogue named Bork jumped into the Arena pit. Despite the disastrous event, The Battle Arena has announced that it will relocate to Umbra, with more seating areas as well as improved security. I have been there and I can tell you it is definitely an upgrade. A rune is locked down on the front steps of the old Arena, and will be availabe in Luna Bank through the week. Gates will be opening in Luna Bank the night of the event starting at 8:45. We shall christen the new Arena in blood next friday, as the Battle Arena has announced Medieval May-hem, May 4th at 9/8 CT. Right now the tentative main event will be Maximus Lozier defending The Battle Arena Championship against Edmond Dantes, the winner of the Six Man Madness Battle Royal at Championship Glory. Maximus Lozier, the
outcast of Britannia, has issued an open challenge to any man, woman, or child
willing to face him in a one on one duel. Maximus Lozier has been fuming mad
since his loss at the Grand Opening event earlier this month, and has made promises
that there will be an execution this Sunday night. Who will answer his challenge?
We will all find out Sunday night!
April 13th, 2007:
It has been reported that Battle Arena combatant, Tobias Funk'e, who is scheduled to face Sir William at the Championship Glory event April 22nd, has been imprisoned for three days by Sosarian authorities. The incident took place last night at Luna Bank in Malas when Sir William allegedly reported the fencer on harassment and offensive language charges. Authorities sided with William, who was glad to see the man who had been taunting him incessantly arrested in Haven shortly after. We will receive more information on the situation from Tobias upon his release. Sir William has yet to comment.
April 7th, 2007:
Edward Delinden has already requested a fight with Murtagh on Sunday Night April 22nd. This comes as the result of Edward asking those who were in attendance last night at the Grand Opening Event who they thought he should fight next. No word yet from Murtagh if he will agree to the Battle. A six-man Battle Royal has also been added to the card, which appears to be shaping up to be quite an event.

April 5th, 2007 Update:
Edmond Dantes has indeed been replaced in his match against Murtagh. It will now be Ocilo representing the Mystic Knights against Murtagh representing the Keepers of Light and Dark. Edmond Dantes is still scheduled to compete on April, 22nd.
April 5th, 2007:
Hail and welcome to the official site of The Battle Arena. Tomorrow shall be our premiere event, the showdown between Maximus and Edward has been building for months now and it will be great to finally see who will be the winner. Please, show up early, you do not want to miss a second of the action as the card looks incredible.
Edward Delinden vs. Maximus Lozier
Edmond Dantes* vs. Murtagh
Tobias Funk'e vs. Sir William
*There have been problems with Edmond Dantes being regulated for the competition. He may be replaced last minute, so remember-the card is subject to change.
The next event has been announced! It will take place on Sunday, April the 22nd, starting at 8:00pm EST. At this event The Battle Arena Championship will be up for grabs. I eagerly await to see who that will be.
